Buckley Systems is a world leading manufacturer of electromagnets used in applications as diverse as semi-conductor manufacturing, medical therapy and high energy physics research. Almost all of our products are exported to overseas markets.
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing / Logistics Officer to work within a team sharing responsibility for managing the supply chain to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of raw materials and sub-components required to manufacture our products. The role involves:
- Generating purchase orders;
- Ensuring that systems are updated accurately and on time;
- Maintaining vendor relationships;
- Investigating alternative products and suppliers;
- Involvement in new product development.
To succeed in this role you will have sound experience within a manufacturing environment and a demonstrated expertise in purchasing, supply and inventory management. Organised and efficient, you will have excellent negotiation and influencing skills and take a logical and practical approach to achieving required outcomes.
Additional skills and attributes include:
- Relevant purchasing and logistics experience;
- Bill of Materials system experience;
- Confident communicator, willing to ask questions;
- A strong sense of team work;
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines;
- Demonstrated attention to detail;
- A positive attitude with a high level of initiative and energy;
- PC literate.
Manufacturing experience is essential and an engineering background is preferred. Ideally you will be conversant with engineering drawings, drawing standards, engineering models and general technical terminology.
